Government, Industry and Utility Leaders Discussed Issues Related to PHEVs @ summit
Ohio State University’s Center for Automotive Research hosted“The PHEV Summit: Driving to Our Energy Future,” on Thursday (9/3). The PHEV Summit was sponsored by Ohio State and PJM Interconnection, the regional wholesale electricity transmission organization for much of the eastern United States.
Industry experts and leading researchers in the fields of electric energy transmission and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, as well as government officials and national and State of Ohio policy makers presented their perspectives on the future of electric vehicles and their impact on the electric grid.

The day-long event at the Center for Automotive Research brought together representatives of the auto industry, electric utilities and federal and state governments to share information and discuss issues related to PHEVs and their integration into the electricity grid.
SMART@CAR is a broad spectrum consortium of members from the utility, automotive, electronics and transit industries that join together to examine the deployment of plug-in electric vehicles from all perspectives.
ATTENDEES:
About 65, representing public officials, industry representatives, third party providers and university officials. Trade and regional media also attended.
